How it works

  1. 1. A PDF file

Generate the PDF file on your server.

  2. 2. Send it over the API

Post the PDF to the e-liides server for printing with an API request.

  3. 3. The printer prints

Wait up to 10 seconds and the printer starts printing the file.

Frequently asked questions

If you need to print server-generated files on a physical printer every day, the need is probably already there.

A common problem is that the web server cannot reach the printer directly, so somebody has to open the PDF by hand and only then print it. That step can be skipped — the server can handle it on its own.

Since all the data exchange happens at server level, the module can be used from any device. If you add a "Print shipping label" button to your store’s admin view and a developer wires the API logic to it, the file is sent to print.

You can print from anywhere — all you need is access to the web server, and that is usually available over the internet.

Connecting the module does require a developer, and we have allowed for that. Get in touch and we will guide your developer or build the integration ourselves.

Installation guide

Installation guide

  1. 1

Register a "Cloud printer" licence at e-liides.ee

    • Log in or create a new account at e-liides.ee
    • After logging in, choose My account from the menu at the top right
    • Click Order a new service
    • Choose the Cloud printer module
    • Copy the generated licence key so you can use it later in the Windows application and over the API
  2. 2

Download and install the Windows application

    • Note: install the Java JRE before you start. You can download it here (x64 MSI Installer): oracle.com
    • Download the e-liides printer module to the computer and install it
    Download
  3. 3

Add the licence key to the Windows application

    • Open the installed Eliides Cloud Print application
    • Enter the licence key you registered in step 1 into the field that appears
    • Click "Save"
    • The application now needs to keep running in the background. If the computer is restarted, it starts up again automatically
  4. 4

Connect the e-liides API to your own web server

There is a Composer package for PHP developers: github.com/veebiekspert/cloud-print

If that does not fit, Swagger documentation is available for building the integration yourself: e-liides.ee/api/documentation

A quick summary of how to build the integration:

    • Open an API connection to the e-liides server
    • Build a register of printers
    • Send PDF files over the API — include the file source and a printer_id, and that is enough
